The web accessibility of electrical companies is also necessary because they are fundamental for the development of daily life. Therefore, the way we relate to these companies has also evolved in recent decades.
Currently, operations and procedures that previously required waiting in long lines until your turn arrived can now be carried out online. At least, that’s how it is in theory with different Apps and websites renewed for this with different services for customers.
However, are these portables accessible to any type of user? Your Accessible Web has carried out a study of the main electricity companies. In summary, we deduce that electricity companies still have a very wide room for improvement.
What are the main electricity companies?
Endesa: The main electricity company currently occupies the number 1 position in our ranking of companies that supply electricity in terms of accessibility. Its level of suitability is A while the average score of its website is 7.96.
The compliance status is partially compliant and the accessibility statement does not follow the European model or reflect existing errors or how to report an issue. The effort made to make their portal accessible is appreciated, although they still have work to do to reach an AA level.
Holaluz: In second place in our particular ranking is Holaluz. This being a light marketer, based in Barcelona, it has an adequacy level of A and an average score on its website of 7.90.
The compliance situation is partially compliant and they do not have an accessibility declaration. Like Endesa, they must continue along this path and continue improving their portal to achieve a greater degree of accessibility.
Gesternova: This company (light marketer) with presence in Spain and Portugal occupies third place in the ranking. Its level of suitability is not valid, although the average grade on its website is 7.24.
Their compliance status is partially compliant and they do not have an accessibility declaration. They will have to improve their efforts, so that they not only improve their score, but also reach at least a level of adequacy A.
Repsol: Another of the large companies in this ranking, it occupies fourth place. Its level of adequacy is not valid while the average grade of its website, in terms of accessibility, does not reach the approved mark (4.24).
The compliance situation is non-compliant, and furthermore its accessibility statement does not reflect information on what errors we may find or the possibility of reporting an accessibility problem.
Pepeenergy: This company, based in Madrid, has an invalid level of adequacy in web accessibility. Its average grade is 4.09 while the compliance situation of its web portal is not compliant and it does not have an accessibility declaration.
Naturgy: With the same average score is Naturgy, a company incorporated in Barcelona, but with its registered office in Madrid. Your compliance status is non-compliant while your compliance level is invalid.
Like Endesa and Repsol, their accessibility declaration does not follow the European format, so they do not indicate their level of accessibility, nor errors, nor is there the possibility of reporting an incident.
Mipodo: Below even 4, as an average score (3.39), its compliance situation is not compliant while its level of adequacy is also not valid. And they do not include an accessibility statement.
Iberdrola: Another of the large electricity companies, it still has everything to improve. It only gets a 3.14 on its website in terms of accessibility. Its level of adequacy is invalid, just as its compliance management is non-compliant and its accessibility statement is not adequate.
Furthermore, we are very struck by the fact that they have an accessibility certification seal, being of all the companies analyzed the one that shows the worst results.
