NGOs & Third Sector
Inclusive digital accessibility for organizations working towards a fairer world.
Non-profit organizations have the mission of reaching every person, without exception. If your website, donation platform, or volunteer portal is not accessible, you are excluding the very people who need your help the most. Furthermore, European and Spanish regulations increasingly require entities with a digital presence to be accessible. We offer a comprehensive service tailored to the third sector: from auditing to ongoing compliance management.
Why is accessibility essential for NGOs?
Applicable regulations
European Accessibility Act (EAA)
Directive 2019/882, effective from June 2025, requires digital services offered to the public in the EU to be accessible, including NGOs providing public-facing services.
WCAG 2.2
The international technical standard for web accessibility. Level AA is the minimum requirement demanded by European and Spanish legislation.
RD 1112/2018
Applicable to NGOs receiving public funding or providing services on behalf of public administrations. Requires compliance with UNE 301 549.
Ley 11/2023
Digitalization law that strengthens accessibility obligations for entities interacting digitally with citizens, including NGOs with public agreements.
What must be accessible?
Institutional Website
Your website is the public face of your NGO. It must be keyboard-navigable, screen reader compatible, and have adequate contrast to reach all potential donors and beneficiaries.
Donation Platform
The donation process must be 100% accessible: clear forms, keyboard-operable payment gateways, and understandable confirmations for all users.
Volunteer Portal
Platform where volunteers register, view activities, and manage their participation. Must be inclusive to attract volunteers of all abilities.
Newsletters & Emails
Email communications (fundraising campaigns, newsletters, thank-you messages) must be accessible with semantic structure, alt text, and good contrast.
Mobile Application
Apps for beneficiaries, volunteers, or donors must meet the same accessibility requirements as the website, ensuring inclusion on mobile devices.

Annual reports, impact assessments, accountability documents, and awareness materials must be tagged according to PDF/UA to be read by assistive technologies.
